Position:          Veterinarian

Hours:              Full time, 40 hours per week 

 

Job Duties:      

Responsible for examining, diagnosing and treating all species of companion animals. Treat

illnesses and injuries, dress animal wounds, perform surgical operations including orthopedic

(Cruciate Repair, Patellar Surgery, FHO, IM Pin Implant, Rim Mendibulactomy, Amputations)

and soft tissue (Gallbladder removal, Perineal Hernia Repair, Analsac Carcinoma Removal,

Soft Tissue Sarcoma Removal, Barchycephalic Syndrome) surgeries, and vaccinate animals

against infections. Write and dispense prescriptions for sick animals. Operate medical

equipment such as x-ray, blood analyzer, and urinalysis. Perform necropsy and pathology

services to obtain a cause of death. Educate animal owners on animal behavior and research

animal diseases, especially related to prevention and treatment. Supervise and assign work to

an Associate Veterinarian, a Hospital Manager, and a Veterinary Assistant. 

 

Job Requirements: 

• DVM or foreign equivalent degree 

• Valid Veterinarian license for the State of Washington

• Three years of experience as a Veterinarian in an animal hospital or a full-service veterinary clinic setting, experience to include performing necropsy and pathology services, orthopedic (Cruciate Repair, Patellar Surgery, FHO, IM Pin Implant, Rim Mendibulactomy, Amputations) and soft tissue (Gallbladder removal, Perineal Hernia Repair, Analsac Carcinoma Removal, Soft Tissue Sarcoma Removal, Barchycephalic Syndrome) surgeries.
